Public Verification & QR

Public Verification turns a sealed matter into something anyone can independently confirm. Each sealed matter gets a permanent verification link and QR code. Scanning the code or opening the link shows a branded page that attests the document is held in your Provenance Vault, with its hash and, if it was signed, its signature, without ever revealing the contents.

It completes the trust chain: prepare, approve, seal, sign, and now publicly verify.

How it works

A sealed matter has a permanent link: https://yourdomain/verify/<token>

Scan the QR or open the link ─▶ branded page (no login):
   ✓ Verified by <Firm>
   · document type, jurisdiction, sealed date
   · Vault entry id + document hash
   · if signed: signer name, signed date, verification id

The token is random and unguessable, so the link can be shared safely. If a token is unknown or invalid, the page shows a clear "Not found" state instead.

What the page shows

A firm-branded attestation, and nothing more:

  • Your firm name, logo, and colour (from your portal branding).
  • Document type (the workflow), jurisdiction, and sealed date.
  • The Vault entry id and hash, the integrity anchor for the record.
  • When the matter was electronically signed: the signer's name, the signing date, and the verification id.

It deliberately shows no document content, no financial figures, and no client PII. It proves the record exists and is intact, it does not expose what is inside.

Where you find it

  • In the matter (Scroll): open a completed, sealed matter and use Verification QR in the completion card to see the QR and copy the public link.
  • On the signed PDF: the Electronic Signature Certificate page includes the QR and the link, so a printed or emailed copy is verifiable on its own.

Why it matters

  • Clients get reassurance their document is genuine and sealed.
  • Auditors and counterparties can confirm authenticity in seconds, with no access to your workspace.
  • Government officers can check a submitted package was prepared and sealed by your firm.

Because it is pure hash and signature verification, the page is fast, always available, and works independently of any AI service.
