Authorised Agents

Authorised Agents are domain-specialised AI assistants that do real work: research, analyse documents, draft reports, and run multi-step tasks. They are called "authorised" because every action an agent takes is governed by the Xybern Authorisation Layer, planned, approved, and enforced before it executes.

There are four agent presets, each tuned for a profession with its own identity, example prompts, and skill set:

Agent For
Banking Agent Banking and finance, research, document analysis, scenario modelling, AML.
Legal Agent Case-law research, contract review, legal drafting, compliance analysis.
Project Management Agent Project plans, status reports, risk, resourcing, stakeholder comms.
Fraud Agent Fraud detection, investigation, prevention, intelligence, reporting.

Authorised Agents are distinct from the Authorisation Layer (the enforcement API), from Redact (the privacy proxy), and from Scroll (the regulatory workflow platform). They are the conversational, skills-and-automations agents.

How an agent works

1. You ask ("Draft a weekly status report for stakeholders")
2. The agent plans (it proposes the steps and tools it will use)
3. You approve (review the plan, then Approve & Run)
4. It executes (research, read documents, call connectors, draft output)
↑ every action is checked by the Authorisation Layer
5. You get the result (with the work, sources, and any documents produced)

The plan-then-approve step is what makes the agent safe to give real capabilities: you see what it intends to do before it does it.

What every agent can do

All four presets share the same engine and feature set; only their identity and default skills differ.

  • Skills , toggleable domain capabilities (skill packs) plus your own custom skills, auto-suggested per request.
  • Automations , schedule the agent to run a task on a cadence or trigger.
  • Documents , upload files the agent can read, shared across every chat in the workspace.
  • Connectors & Data Sources , Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Slack, Notion, and more.
  • Conversation History , every chat saved and searchable.
  • Team & Organisation , collaborate with colleagues in the same workspace.
  • Telegram Access , talk to your agent from Telegram.

Choosing an agent

Pick the preset that matches your work, the agent's identity, welcome prompts, and default skills are tuned for it. You can rename the agent and adjust its skills per workspace at any time. Start with whichever fits, then read its page for the specifics:
